Dumpster Sizes
What dumpster sizes do you offer?
We offer 10 yard, 15 yard, 20 yard, 30 yard, and 40 yard roll off dumpsters to fit projects of every size.
What Size Dumpster Do I Need?
Dumpsters come in several different sizes and are generally measured in cubic yards, in terms of their capacity volume. A smaller, 5-10 yard dumpster is great for smaller cleanup or remodeling jobs. Medium-sized, 15-20 yard dumpsters can handle next-level projects like flooring removal, deck removal, or basement, garage, or attic clean-outs. The largest dumpsters, at 30-40 yards, are necessary for the biggest of clean-outs or remodeling projects. Try to estimate the size your project will need and round up. It’s better to have a dumpster that’s a little too big than to realize later you don’t have enough space and have to schedule multiple pickups or additional dumpsters.
Keep in mind that dumpsters are often measured in cubic feet. For visualization purposes, a cubic yard is just a little bigger than a common stove appliance. Consider the size and type of project you are going to complete, as well as the space where your dumpster will be dropped off.
What is a 10 yard dumpster best for?
Small cleanouts, bathroom remodels, yard debris, and minor renovation projects.
What is a 15 yard dumpster best for?
Garage cleanouts, flooring removal, roofing projects, and medium remodeling jobs.
What is a 20-yard Dumpster Rental?
Perfect for medium projects like home cleanouts, renovations, or deck removals, a 20-yard dumpster holds around eight pickup truck loads of material. While provider dimensions may vary, standard dumpsters measure roughly 22 feet long, 7.5 feet wide, and 4.5 feet high. They commonly include a walk-in door for easier handling of larger or heavier items and offer an average weight capacity of 4 to 5 tons.
- Capacity: Supports around 20 cubic yards of material, comparable to about 8 pickup truck loads.
- Dimensions: Typically measures 22’ L x 7.5’ W x 4.5’ H, though specifications can differ.
- Weight Support: Handles an average weight of 4 to 5 tons.
- Loading Made Simple: Includes walk-in doors in many models, aiding in the loading of bulky furniture and large appliances.
Common uses include full property cleanouts, deck removal services (400 sq. ft.), roof replacement solutions, extensive kitchen and bathroom remodeling, small to medium concrete removal jobs, estate and foreclosure clearouts, and outdoor landscaping.
What is the most common dumpster rental?
This size is popular because it’s big enough to handle most mid-size projects, yet not too large that it’s difficult to place or fill. A 20-yard dumpster typically measures 22 feet long by 8 feet wide by 4.5 feet high. It can hold up to 20 cubic yards of waste material, which is roughly equivalent to about six pickup trucks of debris.
Keep in mind, however, that the type and size of dumpster you need will depend on the specifics of your project. Factors such as the type of waste material, the total amount of debris, the duration of the rental, and local landfill fees can all influence your choice of dumpster. Therefore, it is advisable to speak to a rental company to determine the best size for your needs.
Renting a dumpster can help keep your project area clean and safe, enabling you to focus on getting the job done efficiently. Make sure to choose a reliable rental company that can provide timely delivery and pickup, as well as a clear pricing structure to avoid unexpected charges.
What is a 30-yard dumpster used for?
This dumpster size is popular for a variety of reasons. It is versatile and big enough to handle large quantities of waste. The 30-yard roll-off dumpster is equivalent to approximately 10 pickup truckloads. It measures around 22 feet long, 8 feet wide and 6 feet high. Its large size allows you to discard a considerable amount of debris or waste materials without the need for multiple pick-ups and drop-offs, thus saving you both time and money.
With its easy access and large capacity, the 30-yard dumpster is ideal for jobs involving large amounts of debris such as roofing, demolition, or renovation work. However, it is not limited to only construction debris; it is also commonly used for household junk, yard waste, and large cleanouts.
Although it has a large capacity, it is important to bear in mind that this size of dumpster has weight restrictions, and the amount and type of debris you can dispose of may vary.
So whether you are a homeowner, contractor, or business owner, if your job involves disposing of a significant amount of waste, then the 30-yard roll-off dumpster could be an ideal choice for you. However, always make sure to check with your local dumpster rental company about their policies on dumpster rentals before you decide on renting one.
What is a 40 yard dumpster used for?
Large construction projects, commercial cleanouts, demolition, and extensive renovations. It is our biggest container and is built for jobs that produce a high volume of debris.
Which dumpster is best for a garage cleanout?
A 10 or 15 yard dumpster is usually ideal.
Which dumpster is best for a basement cleanout?
A 20 yard dumpster works well for most basements.
Which dumpster is best for an estate cleanout?
Most estate cleanouts are a good fit for a 30 yard dumpster.
Which dumpster is best for roofing?
A 15 or 20 yard dumpster is typically recommended, and heavier shingle loads may call for extra weight allowance.
Which dumpster is best for a kitchen or bathroom remodel?
A 20 yard dumpster is the most common choice for a kitchen remodel, while a 10 yard is usually enough for a bathroom.
Which dumpster is best for construction?
Most contractors choose a 30 or 40 yard dumpster for construction debris.
Can I rent multiple dumpsters?
Yes. We regularly provide multiple dumpsters for larger projects, and we can swap a full one for an empty one as your job moves along.

How Long Do I Get to Keep the Dumpster? And Do I Need a Reservation for my Dumpster?

You may or may not have enough time to get your project finished. Just give us a call and we will schedule your pickup.
Are dumpsters picked up automatically?

Can I Schedule an Extra Haul for My Dumpster?

If this is the case, contact your dumpster rental company for details on additional pickups and disposals. In many cases, you can schedule an extra haul-away for your dumpster. If you think you may have extra waste to get rid of, it may be a good idea to schedule a larger dumpster at your initial booking. However, if you find that you need an extra haul, just call 888-451-9297, and we will set up extra services.
Delivery and Pickup
When Will My Dumpster Be Delivered?
When you make your dumpster reservation, your local dumpster company will give you a window of time to expect your dumpster delivery. If your dumpster is required early in the morning, it may be best to request a delivery for the day before.
How quickly can my dumpster be delivered?
Often the same day or the next business day, depending on availability.
How Far in Advance Should I Reserve My Dumpster?
In general, the more notice, the better. But many dumpster companies can also accommodate more last-minute requests, delivering dumpsters the next business day. Call your local dumpster company for available delivery times.
Do I have to be home during delivery?
No. As long as you leave clear placement instructions, we can deliver without anyone present.
Can you place the dumpster in my driveway or on the street?
Yes, we can place it in your driveway. We can sometimes place it on the street, but local permits may be required, so check with your local government first.
Do I Need a Permit for a Dumpster?
On your private property, such as in your driveway, it shouldn’t be an issue. But some areas do not allow dumpsters on the street without a permit. Check with your local government for the rules on dumpsters in your area. Your local dumpster company can also help you make sense of local restrictions.
How much space is needed for delivery?
Generally, about 60 feet of straight clearance and 23 feet of overhead clearance is recommended so our truck can safely place and pick up the dumpster.
Will the Dumpster Damage My Yard or Driveway?
Dumpsters, by their nature, are large and heavy, so damage concerns are natural. To mitigate any damage, you can communicate with your dumpster company beforehand. The dumpster company may offer wooden planks underneath the roll-off dumpster to protect driveways and lawns. If this is not an option, place plywood planks where your dumpster will be placed to reduce any damage.
How Do I Schedule Dropoff and Pickup of a Dumpster?
Schedule your dumpster drop off whenever you’re ready to start filling it up. Once it starts filling up, contact your dumpster rental company for disposal options. Call 888-451-9297 for top-rated dumpster services in your area and to schedule a reservation today.
Should I close the loading door before pickup?
Yes. Please close and latch the loading door before we arrive for pickup.

Helpful Tips
How Do I Load My Dumpster?
When your dumpster is dropped off at your location, it should have doors that open all the way on one side. You can start by loading all your waste materials through these doors. Close the doors when the dumpster is starting to fill, and load from the top. If your dumpster is filling up, contact your dumpster rental company for options regarding additional dumpsters or additional disposal services. Make sure you know the details of any overage charges before overfilling your dumpster.
How full can I load the dumpster?
Materials should never extend above the top rail. Keeping the load level keeps it safe to transport.
Should I spread the weight evenly?
Yes. Even loading makes the dumpster safer to haul.
Can rain add weight to the dumpster?
Yes. Covering the dumpster during storms helps keep excess water weight down.
What happens if I overload the dumpster?
An overloaded dumpster may need to be unloaded before it can be transported safely, so it is best to call us for a swap or an extra haul if you are running out of room.
Should I keep children away from the dumpster?
